“A trauma-informed society is the first step towards breaking the cycles of trauma and reclaiming our authentic selves.” - Gabor Mate
This highly relevant topic will benefit professionals working with any population, as well as individuals interested in exploring their own individual and family trauma. Facilitated by Rev. Sarah Shepley, participants will listen to and share key insights around the many layers of trauma - from personal to family to collective trauma. We will begin with personal exercises regarding our own adaptive strategies, along with breathing and writing exercises to help process the information.
In the afternoon we will focus on trauma informed care in larger settings (schools, medical settings, family, etc). Through breakout groups, participants will have opportunities to share key insights and responses around trauma with prompts and guidance. There will be process time and group discussion to generate ideas and strategies on how to provide and be sensitive to trauma informed care. There will be ample screen breaks for integration and embodiment throughout the day.
Fee: $75
